Many patients require a repeat of their prescription. We accept such requests by post, email or into our repeat prescriptions box, situated at the surgery reception area. Requests by telephone will NOT be accepted, with exceptions for medical emergencies.
Our surgery is fully computerised, as is the prescription system. With each prescription slip will be a counterfoil. On this counterfoil, tick the medicines required, as appropriate and post or deliver by hand, as required. Once we receive a request, please allow at least 48 hours for this to be processed, before the prescription can be mailed out or collected.
Have you signed up to our Electronic Prescription Services (EPS)?
The benefits of EPS are that:
- prescribers can process prescriptions more efficiently and spend less time dealing with prescription queries
- dispensers can reduce use of paper, have improved stock control, and provide a more efficient service to patients
- patients can collect repeat prescriptions from a pharmacy without visiting their GP, and won't have a paper prescription to lose
Please speak to one of our reception team for further information.
Alternatively, if you are unable to collect your prescription personally, send a stamped addressed envelope with your request and it can be mailed to you. You prescription can also be delivered to a local pharmacist of your choice. Please ask the receptionist for details of this service.
Please note that we are responsibe for your prescriptions and have the right to question any request, even if it has been prescribed by the hospital.
